Children's Databases
These databases are provided for the Bank Street community. Staff, students, and parents with a valid library card can use their barcode to gain access from home. If you have trouble logging in, remember that your Library card must be reactivated at the Library each semester.
These databases primarily contain full-text articles (meaning that the entire article is available online). They draw from sources ranging from children's magazines, like Ranger Rick and Stone Soup to mainstream magazines like Time and Newsweek.

Grolier Encyclopedias include Encyclopedia Americana, The New Book of Knowledge, and La Nueva Enciclopedia Cumbre.
PrimarySearch
Provides full text for 50 children’s magazines and over 100 children’s pamphlets, designed for the elementary school student.
TopicSearch
This current events database contains articles from over 1,100 magazines, 150 newspapers, 400 pamphlets, 1,500 popular biographies, 800 book reviews and 15,000 public opinion polls.
Infotrac Jr.
InfoTrac Junior is designed especially for junior high and middle schools. It features the titles most critical to their libraries and the curriculum as identified by school librarians. Infotrac Junior Edition provides information back to 1995. Additionally, the databases include full text newspaper articles from the Knight-Ridder/Tribune News Service and 300+ full color Rand NcNally maps.
WorldBook
This encyclopedia is aimed at grades 3 and up, is designed to cover curriculum topics, and includes "Today in History," and "Behind the Headlines" features.
Britannica
Content of print version, plus Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. Interactive maps, daily features, spotlights, related Web site links.
EBSCOAnimals
Provides in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals. The database consists of indexing, abstracts, and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.
Twayne's Author Series
provides short biographies on well-known American, British, and world authors, from ancient times to the present. Major works by each author are also discussed.
